Reporting to our Events, Arts & Culture Team Leader, your role as Vibrant Places Officer is key to our success in delivering events, arts and placemaking activities across Port Stephens. You will coordinate the delivery of Council’s civic events including Australia Day, NAIDOC Week and New Year’s Eve, as well as supporting the broader Vibrant Places team across community, economic development and placemaking initiatives. You’ll also work directly with community groups, event organisers and internal teams to support the delivery of events on Council land - providing practical advice and guidance to help them create safe, sustainable and inclusive events in Port Stephens. This is a contract opportunity for a period of up to November 2026 – working full-time 35 hours / week access to a flexible working arrangement Hourly Rate Range: $38.24 to $44.90 per hour 12% superannuation retention allowance You will be working from PSC Administration Building, Raymond Terrace A full list of the key responsibilities within this role are listed in the position description here – view the position description. Here’s what we’re looking for: Tertiary qualification in a related field with proven experience in a similar role Sound understanding of the event industry including significant experience with sports based operations, event development, support and facilitation Prior experience coordinating projects including event planning and event delivery skills Demonstrated communication skills including providing operational and logistical information and assistance to event organisers including road closures, provision of amenities, waste management, supply of power, requirements for sale of food, sound management, and amusement devices This is life at PSC!
